IN BARRHEAD, ALBERTA:
PRODUCTION MANAGER
The Production Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, has the responsibility to organize and maintain production in the Barrhead manufacturing plant. The Production Manager will be required to fill in for the Plant Manager during vacation or any other absence.
Responsibilities:
- Review designs of all customer products to ensure manufacturability
- Provide assistance to plan and schedule plant production based on delivery dates, product availability, equipment, and personnel capabilities
- Provide specific requirements for products and services to be supplied
- Monitor all supplies and incoming product
- Provide the Plant Manager with current and accurate information on production status
- Promote a safe work environment and safe work practices
- Enforce all Pollard Banknote Barrhead facility and health and safety regulations
- Provide results from testing new raw materials for approval
- Provide Supervision and Leadership to reporting departments
- Provide an avenue for employees to air concerns and address them if possible
- Provide the Plant Manager with assistance in promoting a positive atmosphere and providing appropriate tools for the tasks to be completed
- Provide specific requirements for performance
- Solicit ideas from employees for continual improvement
- Provide probationary and performance reviews for employees
- Provide employees with assistance and support in problem solving and achieving production goals
- Complete payroll for employees
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Education and experience in manufacturing
- Must have proven supervisory skills
- Must have organizational skills
- Must be quality conscious, able to follow procedures and specifications accurately
- Ability to work overtime when necessary and short notice overtime
- Must have a positive attitude and promote a team atmosphere
- Must have professional work habits and able to assign duties
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and assignments
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Maintain high production levels while maintaining quality standards
- Must be open to new ideas and concepts
- Capable of sound decision making

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
The Production Assistant, reporting to the Production Manager, has the responsibility to provide assistance to the Production Supervisor, Maintenance/Security Manager, Production Manager and Plant Manager. The Production Assistant will be required to fill in for the Production Supervisor during vacation or any other absence.
Responsibilities:
- Employee scheduling
- Enter online production specifications
- Monitor all raw material and in-process inventories
- Complete Interplant Checklists
- Review Customer Specifications and identify required supplies
- Add valid cost centres to dockets for data entry of employee & equipment cards
- Enter daily data for Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Maintenance/Security Manager, Plant Manager and run reports
- Assist with procedures and audits for ISO and Safety
- Assist in maintaining records of maintenance activities and supplies
- Assist in updating post-manufacturing documentation
- Provide input to employee reviews
- Complete payroll for employees
- Assist with projects as assigned
- Vacation (illness) relief for Production Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have Grade 12 with strong typing and math skills
- Attention to detail skills essential
- Must have good personal planning & organizing skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate a high energy level
- Must be a team player
- Must be competent in Microsoft Excel and Word
