CONTROLS SPECIALIST (F04-09)
The Controls Specialist will be responsible for design / adaptation of manufacturing systems, inclusive of controls technology and machine vision, in support of our manufacturing operations in both Canada and the US. Working within a team environment, the selected individual will be responsible for development of project plans in accordance with the specified requirements, the selection of appropriate hardware/software solutions and the design of control technology. Projects will vary in scope from single plant enhancements to large manufacturing systems.
Use of Programmable Logic Controllers, tension controllers and Servo Drive technology will be a central component to the majority of the projects to be undertaken.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Degree
- A minimum of two years experience in a related industrial setting with particular emphasis on
- The design and troubleshooting of custom digital and analog circuits
- The design and troubleshooting of the power distribution systems, emergency safety circuits and power protection for the servo/AC/DC drives and controls systems.
- The design and programming of industrial human machine interface (HMI).
- Use of programmable logic controllers especially related to motion control
- Machine Vision applications
- Knowledge and training in the standards and requirements of Canadian Electrical Codes (CEC), NEC and OSHA.
- Use of electrical instruments: Oscilloscope, multi-meter, etc.
- Use of AutoCAD
- Experience / Education in Mechanical Design would be preferred
- Must be able to travel in Canada and the United States
- Strong computer skills
- Strong communications skills including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
