Human Resources Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Human Resources support and delivery of essential HR services to the local plant, broader HR team and the business.  As well, this candidate will support and contribute to the plant’s health, safety and quality program. 

Responsibilities will include recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, health & safety, quality management and policy and procedure administration, all while being a key driver of our culture and core values. 

What you will do

  • Ensure all recruitment requirements of the company are met and that best qualified candidates are sourced (internally and externally) and integrated into the company through the onboarding program
  • Conducts new hire orientation training
  • Provide guidance and direction on employee relations, discipline, coaching and performance management situations
  • Disability claims management, both occupational and non-occupational
  • Ensure adherence to corporate and site-specific HR policies and practices
  • Complete HR related documentation in support of the day to day business requirements
  • Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing support of HR strategies, projects, policies and workplace programs
  • Champion an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and top performance

What you will need

  • Post-secondary education within the field of HR and 3-5 years’ related HR experience; HRPA  designation an asset
  • Broad knowledge and demonstrated experience in; compensation and benefits, training and development, full cycle recruitment, retention and recognition
  • Experience handling disability claims, both occupational and non-occupational, as well as facilitated return to work programs
  • An excellent understanding of employment legislation and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications – Word, Power Point, Excel and Share Point
  • Experience practicing HR in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Ability to travel across Canada and the USA would be an asset
