Project Lead, Corporate Lab Services

We’re currently looking for a Project Lead, Corporate Lab Services to join our Team for 18-month term position working out of our Head Office, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  In this role, you will be responsible for managing the research & development projects and supporting operational management within our lab facility in Winnipeg ensuring ticket security meets company and customer specifications. 

What you will do

  • Directing and managing the research and development projects and actively participating in new product development, ensuring the integrity of our current processes and compliance to security requirements
  • Ensuring that all testing completed by the labs are executed accurately and recorded; ensuring non-conforming product is identified and disposed of or dealt with via company policy
  • Ensuring all incoming raw materials meet the required specifications
  • Maintaining an awareness of new trends and technologies
  • Assist with the management of lab personnel including but not limited to, training & development, employee relations, performance management and recruitment & selection
  • Various project work

What you will need

  • Masters in Polymer Chemistry is preferred or a degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Biosystems Engineering or related area.
  • 2-5 years’ Research & development experience within a research lab / production environment
  • Experience leading projects from initial concept through to completion
  • Some work experience in the printing/inks or coatings formulation industry would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in a cross-functional role effectively managing a team would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of printing processes (Flexography and Digital Imaging), chemistry and interactions of the security inks and coatings applied would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of security testing & methodology would be considered an asset
  • High proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to effectively mentor, train and create a collaborative work environment
  • Experience within the Lottery industry would be considered an asset
