Benefits & Disability Management Specialist

Pollard Banknote is seeking Benefits & Disability Management professional to manage the Company’s benefit programs, including compensated absences and medical leaves for our Canadian and USA operations. In this permanent full-time role, the successful candidate will also work closely with Payroll and HR teams.

What you will do

  • Leads the full cycle short term and long-term disability process and coordinates the return to work process
  • Works with external service providers to monitor case files for short and long-term disability leaves
  • Administers employee benefit programs which includes monthly billing, benefit enrollments, contributions and arrears collection, etc.
  • Acts as the internal consultant to all employees regarding leaves, benefit enrollment and benefit related inquiries
  • Acts as the liaison with external benefit providers
  • Ensures accurate administration of all employee changes within the payroll system and external insurance/benefits provider databases in a high-volume environment
  • Conducts regular internal audits of employee changes and as required, monitors and implements control measures
  • Conducts analysis of data as necessary to serve leader and business information needs
  • Participates and coordinates annual Benefit Renewal and open enrollment processes
  • Ability to create benefit communications and educate employees on benefit programs
  • Provides recommendations to streamline and improve processes and procedures
  • Exercises applicable Privacy and Confidentiality legislation in accordance to jurisdiction

What you will need

  • 3 or more years of experience in disability management and benefits administration or a combination of experience and post-secondary education in a related field is required
  • Experience working in ADP WFN payroll solutions would be an asset
  • Experience with US Benefits administration and US Legislation would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with Canadian Pension Administration would be an asset
