Benefits & Disability Management Specialist

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Benefits & Disability Management Specialist to join our Finance team within our Winnipeg Office at 140 Otter Street.

As a Benefits & Disability Management Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work within many different facets of benefits and disability management helping our teams across Canada and the US. You will help drive process improvements and make a difference within our organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the full cycle short term and long-term disability process and coordinate the return to work process
  • Work with external service providers to monitor case files for short and long-term disability leaves
  • Administer employee benefit programs which includes monthly billing, benefit enrollments, contributions, and arrears collection, etc.
  • Act as the internal consultant to all employees regarding leaves, benefit enrollment and benefit related inquiries
  • Acts as the liaison with external benefit providers
  • Ensure accurate administration of all employee changes within the payroll system and external insurance/benefits provider databases in a high-volume environment
  • Conduct regular internal audits of employee changes and as required, monitor, and implement control measures
  • Conduct analysis of data as necessary to serve leader and business information needs
  • Participate and coordinate annual Benefit Renewal and open enrollment processes
  • Create benefit communications and educate employees on benefit programs
  • Provide recommendations to streamline and improve processes and procedures
  • Exercise applicable Privacy and Confidentiality legislation in accordance to jurisdiction

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in disability management and benefits administration or a combination of experience and post-secondary education in a related field is required
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills within Excel, Word, and Power Point are required
  • Experience working in ADP WFN payroll solutions would be an asset
  • Experience with US Benefits administration and US Legislation would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with Canadian Pension Administration would be an asset
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
