Director HR, Corporate

We’re looking for a dynamic Director, Human Resources to join our HR team within our Winnipeg head office.

As Director HR, Corporate you will collaborate with leaders and the HR team to design and implement targeted HR strategies for both the Corporate & IT/Digital Teams, aligning with overall business goals. Your responsibilities will include overseeing HR initiatives, addressing intricate employee relations issues, partnering with talent acquisition for talent attraction and retention, managing effective onboarding, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on various aspects of workforce management.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with the Director of Talent to align and execute a comprehensive people strategy with business unit goals.
  • Play a key role in the integration of teams resulting from mergers, acquisitions or organizational changes.  Develop and execute HR plans to foster a unified and collaborative culture among integrated teams.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of targeted training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the workforce.
  • Manage employee relations issues, diagnose root causes, and provide guidance /direction on appropriate interventions and solutions.
  • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and recommend methods to minimize or prevent future issues.
  • Provide high-level guidance and interpretation on HR policies.
  • Drive talent retention efforts by implementing effective employee engagement programs, career development initiatives, and recognition programs.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment by promoting effective communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing amongst team members.
  • Provide guidance to Leaders on complex performance management and employee relations challenges. 
  • Collaborate on HR initiatives that support workforce planning, talent acquisition and retention, succession planning, employee engagement, and organizational design.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of progressive HR management experience, with demonstrated success executing effective HR strategies that drive employee engagement, talent retention, and skills development.
  • Proven experience as an HR leader in a digital startup, technology-driven, or agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of the digital technology industry and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents for talent management.
  • Experience designing and delivering effective learning and development programs for technical professionals.
  • Experience working with international teams.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and a track record of successfully supporting agile teams.
  • Experience managing a broad scope of accountabilities associated within the HR function.
  • Experience within HR in companies growing by acquisitions.  
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial HR related legal requirements and legislation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Working knowledge of ADP
