Manitoba Lotteries Corporation Awards Breakopen Ticket Contact To Pollard Banknote

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, July 7, 2011/CNW/ – Following a recent competitive procurement, Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (Pollard Banknote) has been awarded a five-year contract for breakopen tickets by the Manitoba Lotteries Corporation. With this new agreement, Pollard Banknote continues to serve as the Crown corporation’s exclusive supplier of breakopen tickets, providing services such as game design, ticket production, inventory management, and marketing support.

Pollard Banknote and Manitoba Lotteries have successfully collaborated for more than three decades with Pollard Banknote serving as the corporation’s exclusive supplier of breakopen tickets since 2006. This new five-year agreement, which commences August 1, 2011, and includes the option to extend the contract for two additional one-year terms, builds on this longstanding partnership and calls for the production of more than 40 million breakopen tickets annually to meet demand in one of the leading lottery product markets in North America.

As a Crown corporation of the Province of Manitoba, Manitoba Lotteries owns and operates Club Regent Casino and McPhillips Station Casino in Winnipeg, as well as the province’s Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) network. Breakopen tickets are sold at the Casinos of Winnipeg and various licensed retail outlets and bingo events across the province. The corporation also distributes and sells tickets for lotteries operated by the Western Canada Lottery Corporation and the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation. Net revenue from gaming operations and lottery ticket sales is directed back to the Province of Manitoba to support government programs in health care, education, community and social services, and economic development.
