WINNIPEG, Manitoba, September 26, 2013 /CNW/ – Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”) is pleased to announce it has signed a contract with Diamond Game Enterprises (“Diamond Game”) to supply break-open tickets for Diamond Game’s break-open ticket dispensers to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (“OLG”) Charitable Gaming Centres. Under this agreement with Diamond Game, Pollard Banknote will be responsible for printing the tickets as well as providing warehousing and distribution services for a five-year initial term.
California-based Diamond Game, which designs, manufactures, and services games and gaming systems for the public gaming and charity markets, is supplying ticket dispensers to OLG. These dispensers scan pre-printed, variable imaged break-open tickets and display the results on a video screen, providing a visual and audio enhancement of the traditional break-open ticket.
“While Pollard Banknote has been manufacturing break-open tickets for years, our partnership with Diamond Game takes the product to a new and dynamic level,” said Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Pollard Banknote. “These dispensers, together with Pollard Banknote’s unique product, will offer Charitable Gaming Centres an exciting twist on paper-only break-open tickets.”
“Our break-open ticket dispensers will assist OLG in its efforts to revitalize the charitable gaming market in the province,” stated President and Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Game, Jim Breslo. “This product—a modernized gaming alternative that enhances players’ entertainment level—will help attract a broader gaming audience. We trust Pollard Banknote’s technical capability and manufacturing capacity to supply tickets that meet the requirements for a successful and long-term product offering.”
To date, OLG, the first Canadian lottery to purchase the break-open ticket dispensers, has placed 400 dispensers in 14 Charitable Gaming Centres. Over the next two to three years, Diamond Game and OLG anticipate the placement of dispensers in additional Charitable Gaming Centres across the province of Ontario.
