Pollard Banknote Receives Award For Its Commitment To Quality

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, January 23, 2018 /CNW/ Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”), a leading lottery partner that provides instant tickets, interactive solutions, and marketing support, is proud to announce that it was recently presented with the BSI Canada Award of Excellence for Management Systems. This award recognizes companies that demonstrate world-class management systems, as well as a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

BSI Canada is a division of the world’s first National Standards Body and a founding member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The internationally-recognized business standards organization provides metrics for best practices in systems management. BSI’s standards are leveraged by 80,000 clients in 182 countries, setting quality expectations around the globe.

The Award of Excellence was first presented in 2011, with the aim of recognizing organizations that demonstrate world-class systems and management, along with continual improvement over time. To select nominees for the Award of Excellence, BSI examined quality management systems, as well as audit performances and business results of organizations across Canada. A multidisciplinary panel at BSI Canada then conducted interviews with employees, auditors, and client-facing personnel at 10 nominated organizations to select Pollard Banknote as the award recipient.

This award is a testament to Pollard Banknote’s commitment to continuous improvement. At the core of the company’s business is a commitment to providing quality products to its customers. This is achieved through rigorous quality control systems and policies that are enforced and improved throughout the company. Quality and security of products are essential for an instant ticket provider, and Pollard Banknote’s management systems allow for consistency in the products it provides for over 60 customers around the world.<

Pollard Banknote has spent many years building, auditing, refining, and improving its management system. The company achieved its first ISO certification in 1996 for Quality Management (ISO 9001), and is currently certified to OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security), and the World Lottery Association Security Control Standard (WLA-SCS). Most recently, the company expanded its Information Security Management System scope to include its iLottery customer support services in 2017.
