WINNIPEG, Manitoba, July 17, 2014 /CNW/ – Pollard Banknote Limited (TSX: PBL) (“Pollard Banknote”) is proud to announce the launch of its first instant game produced for Tatts Lotteries, an operating unit of Tatts Group Limited which operates regulated lotteries in Australia. Launched on April 23, 2014, the $15 One Million Prestige instant game is offered by two lotteries—Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited (“Golden Casket”) and New South Wales Lotteries Corporation Pty Limited (“NSW Lotteries”). One Million Prestige is the first multi-jurisdictional game at the $15 price point offered by Tatts Lotteries.
One Million Prestige features Pollard Banknote’s patented Scratch FX®—a printing feature which adds sparkle and shine to the display and scratch-off graphics of instant tickets for a visual appeal and brilliance that exceeds that of foil, holographic foil, and metallic inks. The three play areas give players the possibility of winning up to 10 prizes per ticket, and boasts a top prize of $1 million.
“Pollard Banknote is excited about this newly formed partnership with Tatts Lotteries,” said Jennifer Westbury, Executive Vice President, Sales & Customer Development, Pollard Banknote. “This is an opportunity to demonstrate our dedication to developing instant games of the highest quality and security and to showcase our premium and proprietary innovations in the Australian marketplace.”
“This year we began working closely with Pollard Banknote, and we are leveraging both their unique proprietary products and their expertise in multi-jurisdictional games to boost retail sales and broaden the player base for Golden Casket and NSW Lotteries,” stated Bill Thorburn, Chief Operating Officer of Tatts Lotteries. He added, “Our first game with Pollard Banknote, One Million Prestige, featuring Scratch FX®, launched successfully and promoted just in time for our key Mother’s Day gifting period and since then has continued its popularity in these markets. We are also excited about our first Spectrum Scratch FX® game which launched on June 23. We will follow this with several more Scratch FX® games in the coming months.”
The second game Pollard Banknote printed for Tatts Lotteries, Scratch Me Happy, features Spectrum Scratch FX®, combining Scratch FX® with four-colour printing to create the appearance of vibrant coloured foil that stands out in the retail environment and outshines other coloured foil instant products in the marketplace. The featured balloon design has been perfect to assist in the celebrations of Golden Casket’s 30th Birthday for Instant Scratch-Its. Retailer feedback has been extremely positive since the launch and they have taken advantage of the celebratory nature to promote for all year round gifting and in particular for birthdays.
